a list of random things that you may or may not already know about me.

because I’m prone to lists and procrastinating.

  • I have an awful time trying to pronounce the word “sailor.”
  • I often watch dog agility competitions on Youtube. Because I love border collies.
    • And sometimes these videos make me cry.
    • I am not ashamed.
  • I’m passionate about Big Cat Rescue and I want to go there someday.
  • I hate maternity photos. I will never take them. And I doubt I will ever photograph them.
    • Unless someone whips out the big bucks.
    • That said, I think they can be pulled off. Occasionally. Such as in these two photos, via Pinterest:

    • But these instances are very rare.
  • I was a big Pokemon fan as a kid. But my friends thought it was lame and I was embarrassed so I hid it for a long time.
    • I’m now rekindling the joy. Trying to complete my base, fossil, jungle, rocket, and gym challenge/leader sets.
    • And playing Pokemon Yellow on my Gameboy. And Red and Blue, which Deacon has because he’s a Pokemon kid, too.
    • It’s one of the few interests that we actually share and I love it.
  • I would love to be a wildlife photographer. I found this photo on Pinterest a few weeks ago and I cannot even express the effect it had on me. I just sat there staring at it for the longest time. Deer Winter Snow Frost. Photograph by Nicolas Le Boulanger.
    • It’s just so beautiful.
    • Like the entire life of that deer was meant for that moment.
  • I think I’ve decided on trying NaNoWriMo again this November. And you should, too.
    • Not sure if I’ll make it to 50,000 words, but I’d rather have a goal of writing something than not writing anything because I’m afraid I won’t reach a word count.
    • I’ve already started a Playlist.
  • There were flying black crocodiles in my dream last night. And they were terrifying.
  • I just found out that Gilmore Girls comes on Netflix starting October 1st and I’ve been waiting for so long to hear those words.
    • I haven’t seen all the seasons, but I used to watch it sometimes after getting home from school.
    • And I think I would appreciate it a lot more now.
    • And now Deacon doesn’t have to worry about getting it for a Christmas present. Everyone wins.
  • I love watching movie trailers.
  • And Cinema Sins on Youtube.
  • Huge Avatar fan.
    • I have a theory that Bolin and Opal are going to have children in TLOK and one of them, or even a grandchild, will be the next Avatar.
    • I also like to entertain the thought that Zuko is Lin’s father, but I think that what we saw in the last season makes that unlikely.
    • ANDOHMYGOSH I just found out that Book Four premieres October 3rd!!
  • This made me laugh for a long time:
laughed a good while when I saw this.
  • I like books based around memories.
  • I don’t like when people say phrases like “I like good people.”
    • It’s a little redundant.
    • If you see someone as “good,” of course you will like them. Nobody will dislike what they personally view as “good.”
    • I hear people say things like this all the time and it irritates me.
  • I have to have the blankets over my head when I sleep.
    • This is particularly problematic because Deacon is very particular about how he likes his blankets folded.
    • But I came to the conclusion that the reason I do this has stemmed from my childhood, when I was afraid that aliens would come into my room and try to abduct me while I was asleep. So I link having blankets on my head to being safe and comforted.
  • Deacon and I bought an ice cube tray that makes spherical ice.
    • So I guess they’re not really ice cubes, then?
  • I’m not sure I agree with the feminism movement and I don’t know why every female college student goes through a big thing with it.
  • This is not at all how I intended this post to go, but oh well. That’s all for now.
  • PS I love dogs.

I love reading your blog, Emily! I pray you guys are loving the Newlywed life as much as we are! And I agree with the feminism thing; I'm grateful for men and the underlying prideful attitude of the movement irks me. Hope you're doing well- Che

You share Allison's, Jenna's, and my obsession with Gilmore Girls. We can't wait for it to come out on Netflix! That used to be our afterschool thing to do together. We've probably seen all the seasons several times now! Glenna
