series I still haven’t started because I’m the worst.

I’m using this week’s last week’s Top Ten Tuesday as a kind of update to a post I did back in January that was very similar. So these are the books on that list that I still haven’t started yet (because I’m literally the worst and it takes so much for me to pick up a book in a series) and others that I’ve been planning to start but still haven’t.

The Wrath and the Dawn // Renee Ahdieh
Man these books are absolutely beautiful and I’ve been wanting to read them forever but I just keep putting it off. Something is wrong with me.

The Raven Cycle // Maggie Stiefvater
I just…honestly don’t have the drive to read these. I don’t really like urban fantasy? I feel inclined to read these solely because everyone else really likes them. But I hardly ever end up liking books that I read just because others like it.

His Dark Materials // Philip Pullman
I think I’m just afraid that I waited too long for these. But then I’m also afraid that a lot of it will be lost on me. I don’t know. Can anyone recommend?

The Inheritance Cycle // Christopher Paolini
I own all these books now! But still haven’t started! I think I bought my copy of Eragon literally the year it came out when I was a child but never opened it. Even though it was beloved by many and has a blue dragon on the cover. I need more dragons in my life.

The Half Bad Trilogy // Sally Green
I finally own these! The hardbacks were relatively cheap on Amazon so I got them for Christmas. I don’t know anything about them, though. The covers are pretty?

The Illuminae Files // Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
I opened Illuminae for the first time today and was both overwhelmed and in awe. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before. But I’m also kind of scared because there’s just so much.

Gemma Doyle // Libba Bray
(why is the cover of the second book so different from the others?)
I really have no idea what these are about or how good they are, but I’ve heard some good things about the first one and think it looks beautiful.

An Ember in the Ashes // Sabaa Tahir
I’m admittedly less excited to start this series after learning that there are going to be four books? But a know a lot of people liked the first one. I bought the audiobook but it’s longer than I expected so I’ve been putting it off.

The Lord of the Rings // J. R. R. Tolkien
I love these movies a lot, and I would like to know more about the world and everything that couldn’t make it in to the films. But I’m worried that they’re going to be terribly, terribly boring.

Red Rising // Pierce Brown
I know nothing about these but pretty much every book is compared to them these days? And also my library has them. So win!

Chaos Walking // Patrick Ness
How was this published so long ago and I never knew about it? I have no idea. But the covers are pretty, I need to read Patrick Ness, and the paperbacks are really cheap on Amazon.

Starflight // Melissa Landers
I didn’t like sci-fi for a long time but have been enjoying it more and more lately. I’m kind of hoping that this turns out to be what I wanted out of These Broken Stars.

3026912634448985
Empress of a Thousand Skies // Rhoda Belleza
This just came out this year and I’ve seen mixed reviews, but it looks like it tackles some important issues

Mistborn // Brandon Sanderson
I added these to my tbr the moment I saw these gorgeous covers on booktube. And I just found out that our library has them? Or at least some of them because apparently there are seven freaking books.

Anna and the French Kiss // Stephanie Perkins
I love me some YA contemporary. I’m going to start on these to fill the void once I finish Always and Forever, Lara Jean.

What series have you been putting off forever?
Which one of these should I start first?
