2017 releases I meant to read.

I wasn’t sold on many 2017 releases last year. In truth, I spent most of the year catching up on all the 2016 releases that I had missed. Most of these (especially all the YA fantasy) were completely off my radar or didn’t sound interesting to me at all until I saw everyone’s reviews at the end of the year. (I honestly hadn’t read a single book in Goodread’s YA fantasy category.) But since I added a lot of these to my tbr at the very end of the year, I didn’t have time to read them in 2017. A lot of them are on my top priority list for 2018.

(Also note that The Hate U Give was #1 on this list but I already finished reading it.)

ALSO. This is the last Top Ten Tuesday at The Broke and The Bookish!  😮  From next week onwards, it will be moved to The Artsy Reader Girl. (And she’s got topics posted there through May so yay for preparation!)

Today I’m linking up with The Broke and the Bookish for a Top Ten Tuesday!

This week’s theme: Top Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings.

Starfish // Akemi Dawn Bowman

That Inevitable Victorian Thing // E. K. Johnston

I’ve heard fantastic things about We Are Okay, and the cover is absolutely gorgeous! There are so many books that I meant to read last year, and the year before that, and the year before THAT…. someday I’ll get around to reading them! 🙂

I’ve read Stranger the Dreamer and Gentleman’s Guide and they are both amazing! I’ve been a lot more aware of newer releases since joining the bookish community, but haha unless I have an arc, I still don’t don’t read that many new releases…

Ohh I loved so many of these. 😍 Strange the Dreamer and The Gentleman’s Guide (goshhh that whole title is exhausting though) were two of my TOP favourites! And also A Conjuring of Light and Lord of Shadows. 😂😂 I didn’t get around to Flame in the Mist either though whooops. And I feel bad for not having finished the To All the Boys series yet OR Wintersong or Godsgrave!

  4. Oh I haven’t got the chance to read Starfish and Flame in the Mist just yet, but they are both very high on my priority list for this year. I just hope I manage to follow that list and actually read both of these books 😂 They sound incredible, I have heard only great things about Starfish and I loved The Wrath and the Dawn series as well. I haven’t read Strange the Dreamer just yet, but with all the praise I’ve heard… I just can’t not have it on my TBR 😂
    Lovely post! 🙂

I recently had to split my tbr list into two (high priority and low priority) on Goodreads because it was getting out of hand. There were so many good books released in 2017! I wish we could have a gap month between December and January where no new books come out, work and school are canceled, and everyone can just sit at home and catch up reading before the new year starts.
